This update is aimed at optimizing performance, improving integration with third-party AV/EDR systems, and advancing incident response capabilities and trust insights
New and Enhanced functionalities.
Performance Optimization – IPM
This release includes key enhancements to improve system performance in environments with high disk I/O or aggressive access to VSP code from third-party security tools.
Customers may have previously experienced slowdowns when other solutions continuously accessed VSP directories or during intensive file operations. With this update, VSP now handles such scenarios more efficiently, ensuring consistent performance and responsiveness without compromising protection.
These improvements help maintain operational stability across workloads, especially in complex or security-heavy environments.
On-Demand System Scan for New Binaries.
A new on-demand rescan capability enables customers to perform a full file system walk immediately after updating or deploying business application on a workload.
Previously, this scan was only available during the initial installation of VSP. With this enhancement, customers can now ensure that all newly introduced executables and libraries are identified and evaluated before switching to Protect mode. This helps build trust in the updated environment and reduces the risk of false positives or unexpected blocks during runtime.
Removal of Themida/Packagers
- To improve compatibility with widely used administrative tools, all Virsec executables are now digitally signed and free from commercial packers. This change ensures smoother deployments, particularly in environments where tools like ProcMon are present, helping avoid installation issues and improving overall reliability.

Probe Disassociation Fix
- Enhancements have been made to ensure more reliable probe-to-host profile associations. Probes now automatically align with host profiles based on matching names, reducing the risk of disassociation and simplifying configuration.
- This update helps maintain consistent visibility and control across workloads, especially in dynamic environments where host profiles are frequently updated or managed at scale.
Microsoft Defender False Positive Clarification.
A previous Defender alert on vsp-cli.exe was confirmed by Microsoft as a false positive and has been marked clean. If any other Virsec files are flagged by Defender, please raise the case directly with Microsoft, as these are not Virsec-related issues.
