This article provides an overview of the CMS upgrade options.

The VSP CMS can be upgraded in the below scenarios:

On-Prem instance - VSP CMS can be upgraded to the required newer version in the customer environment
1. Version 2.x - for both VM and Kubernetes
2. Version 3.x - from 2.x for VM only
Version 3.x SaaS instance - VSP SaaS CMS instance can be upgraded as below: [Contact Virsec Support Team for upgrade]
1. Upgrade from a previous SaaS version to a newer version
2. Migration of On-prem CMS to SaaS CMS. Once the CMS migration is complete, ensure that the Probes are also upgraded to 3.x

NOTE

VSP CMS 3.0.0 RC3 and above is compatible only with Probe 3.0.0 RC3 and above
Ensure that the previous version of the probe is stopped before CMS upgrade so that the older version of the probe does not connect with the new CMS Instance. If the old Probe connects with the upgraded CMS, then many manual steps are required to ensure that the upgrade is successful
