About this Article
This article introduces you to VSP components and the available license types.
VSP Components
VSP is made up of three components:
- VSP CMS (Central Management System) - This is the UI component. It enables you to configure the desired security policies and monitor the workloads in real-time
- VSP Probe - It is a light-weight component installed on the workload VM/container instance that continuously monitors the workload as per the configured security policy
- Embedded or Remote vRule Engine - This is the VSP's rule engine, central in protecting the configured workload as part of Web Protection. By default, it is embedded with the VSP Probe. If required, it can be installed remotely
Where to start - Procure Licenses
We start by understanding the three VSP licenses - Core, Advanced and Premium - and the protection that they offer:
How many licenses to acquire?
Virtual Machines - Each Probe instance requires one license
Containers - Ten containers can be secured using one license
